Why the Vent Hole Matters
The Spinjet valve cap screw isn't a standard fastener — it has a small hole drilled axially through its centre, and that vent is functional. It allows pressure equalisation within the Spinjet valve mechanism during actuation, which is what enables the valve to reset correctly after each press. Without the vented screw, or with a standard unvented replacement, the valve mechanism doesn't complete its cycle properly. This is a known service issue: technicians who weren't aware these pre-drilled screws were available as a replacement part have resorted to attempting to drill the vent hole themselves — a time-consuming process that typically ruins the screw. Buying the correct pre-drilled replacement is the straightforward solution.
