The shock-resistant plastic construction — the same material thinking behind the Thumpa Large — is engineered to absorb the daily impact of espresso knocking without cracking, splitting, or losing structural integrity over time. The flared collar at the top captures splatter during knocking, keeping the surrounding bench area cleaner.

The knock bar sits in a slotted mount that allows it to be removed easily for cleaning and maintenance — no tools required, and no residue building up in a fixed bar housing that can't be accessed. The top of the Thumpa lifts off for direct emptying into a bin, or the tube can be used with a compatible waste bag liner, allowing the grounds to be lifted out and disposed of without tipping the tube.
