Filter installation is extremely simple even in confined spaces with BWT besthead FLEX, the filter head with the most flexible connection technology worldwide. The innovative FLEX technology with angle adjustment in 30° stages enables the best possible organization of connection hoses even in confined spaces. This saves space whilst ensuring maximum safety.
DVGW-inspected check valves in the filter head on both the inlet and the outlet prevent water from flowing back into the filter cartridge or the water pipeline. BWT besthead FLEX and all accessory parts are made from food-safe materials and can be used with all potable water systems worldwide.
Features:
- Universal head fits all BWT filter types and sizes
- Integrated vent valve and hose
- Simple bypass setting with locking mechanism
- Wall bracket included
- Stop valves for easy filter replacement
- 3/8" BSP connection
When the Standard Besthead Won't Fit — FLEX Solves the Hose Routing Problem
In straightforward installations with clear wall access and direct hose runs, the standard BWT Besthead ($95) does the job cleanly. The Besthead FLEX is for installations where the available space is tight, the wall position is awkward, or the hose run to the machine requires a specific angle that a fixed-port head can't accommodate. The FLEX technology — the defining feature of this filter head — allows both the inlet and outlet connection ports to rotate independently in 30° increments. This means the hose entry angle can be adjusted to whatever routing the space requires: straight down, angled to the left, angled to the right, or any of the intermediate positions around the 360° range. The result is the same wall-mounted filter head function as the standard Besthead, with far greater flexibility in where and how the hoses connect. Chad from Chicago recommends pre-assembling the full setup on a table before wall installation — practical advice for any confined-space plumbing work.
DVGW Check Valves, Integrated Vent, and Standard Besthead Features
The Besthead FLEX carries all the safety and operational features of the standard Besthead, plus two additions. DVGW-inspected check valves on both the inlet and the outlet ports prevent water from flowing back into either the filter cartridge or the main water pipeline — a certified backflow protection standard. An integrated vent valve and hose allows air to be purged from the filter housing during installation and cartridge changes, reducing the risk of air locks in the filtered water line. The bypass valve is adjustable with a locking mechanism (set to 0 for Bestprotect installations), stop valves allow cartridge changes without shutting off the mains, and the wall bracket is included. Connection: 3/8" BSP. Compatible with all BWT filter cartridges — Bestmax, Bestmax Premium, and Bestprotect. For cartridge installation, Teflon tape or plumber's putty at non-O-ring BSP joints is recommended by users of this setup.
Besthead vs. Besthead FLEX — Which to Choose
The standard BWT Besthead ($95) is the right choice for most straightforward plumbed-in filter installations with clear hose access. The Besthead FLEX ($140) is the choice for confined spaces, under-counter installations, cramped utility areas, or any setup where fixed connection ports would create awkward hose bends, kinking, or insufficient clearance. Both accept the same BWT filter cartridges and the BWT Flowmeter add-on. The BWT filter cartridges — Bestmax ($130), Bestmax Premium ($175), and Bestprotect ($140) — are all stocked at Coffee Addicts, as is the standard Besthead and the BWT Adjustable Pressure Reducer for supply line pressure management.
